The Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities (DPU) has recently completed significant upgrades to its hearing facilities, enhancing both in-person and virtual public engagement.

With the help from the team at Pro AV Systems, the centerpiece of the upgrades to the DPU’s Large Hearing Room includes the integration of advanced audio visual technology. The room now features Bose speakers, which deliver crystal-clear audio, ensuring that every voice and presentation is heard with exceptional clarity. Complementing the audio enhancements is a Da-Lite tension screen, which provides a high-quality projection surface for visual presentations. An Epson large-venue projector has been installed, capable of delivering bright, sharp images even in well-lit conditions, making it ideal for displaying detailed regulatory documents, charts, and multimedia content. To support seamless speaker interactions, the room is also equipped with Shure gooseneck microphones, known for their superior sound capture and reliability, ensuring every participant can communicate effectively during hearings.
In addition to the physical upgrades in the Large Hearing Room, the DPU has made substantial investments in its virtual hearing rooms to facilitate remote participation. These rooms now feature Planar dropdown screens paired with Epson projectors, creating a professional and visually engaging environment for virtual attendees. The Planar screens ensure high-resolution display quality, while the Epson projectors deliver vibrant and accurate visuals, allowing remote participants to follow proceedings as effectively as those in person.
