Project Overview
At Pro AV Systems, we specialize in designing and integrating smart, user-friendly AV systems that elevate how organizations connect and communicate. Our recent project with Curriculum Associates focused on transforming their café into a dynamic, multi-use space for hybrid meetings, internal presentations, and collaborative gatherings.
Working closely with the Curriculum Associates team, we engineered, programmed, and installed a flexible and intuitive audio-visual system that enhances both in-person and remote experiences.
Our Solution
The AV upgrade was designed to work seamlessly with equipment furnished by Curriculum Associates while modernizing the room’s core functionality. Our scope included integration of wireless microphones, high-performance speakers, user-friendly control systems, and full coordination with owner-furnished displays and conferencing components.
Displays
Curriculum Associates furnished and installed three flat panel displays throughout the café. These provide ample visual coverage for presentations, video calls, and digital content. Mounting hardware was also provided by the client.
Video
A Mac Mini serves as the central video source for all three displays. Curriculum Associates managed the video signal extension from the Mac Mini to each display. Additionally, wall-mounted PTZ cameras enhance video call quality.
Audio
To ensure clear, reliable sound throughout the space, we removed outdated ceiling speakers and installed eight new Atlas speakers, optimized for full-room coverage and split into two audio zones. This zoning improves voice-lift and clarity from the newly installed Shure wireless microphone system, which includes both lapel and handheld options. Audio is distributed through the ceiling speakers and also supports far-end audio during video calls.
Conferencing
The café is now equipped to support hybrid meetings via the Mac Mini, which handles video conferencing using the cameras and wireless mics. Audio from the Mac Mini is routed through the newly installed ceiling speakers, ensuring remote participants can be clearly heard throughout the room.
Control
We installed a wall-mounted button panel that gives users simple, reliable control over the AV system. Functions include:
- Display power
- Room audio volume
- Microphone volume adjustment
Camera control is handled via software on the Mac Mini or a web interface provided and maintained by Curriculum Associates.
AV Rack
To optimize resources and space, the existing AV rack in the nearby closet was reused, housing all new and integrated equipment for a clean, efficient setup.
Results
The upgraded café at Curriculum Associates is now a versatile collaboration hub, equipped to handle everything from informal gatherings to full-scale video conferencing. By combining owner-furnished components with Pro AV’s system design and integration, the space now delivers clear communication, flexible functionality, and a modern user experience.
