Project Overview
Pro AV Systems recently added an audio visual upgrade to several classrooms within Arlington Public Schools to improve instructional sound by adding Lightspeed’s assistive listening technology. The effort assists in enhancing clarity and sound distribution so that all students can participate in and follow classroom instruction as well as possible.
Our Solution
The installation of Lightspeed’s instructional audio systems addresses common auditory barriers in educational settings, such as background noise and the natural decline in volume over distance. By utilizing teacher-worn microphones and strategically placed speakers, the system amplifies the instructor’s voice uniformly throughout the classroom. This approach not only supports students with hearing challenges but also benefits all learners by enhancing speech intelligibility and reducing the strain on teachers’ voices.
In addition, Lightspeed solutions are designed to integrate with current classroom technology, offering one, easy-to-use experience for teachers. The implementation of such systems demonstrates Arlington Public Schools’ dedication to using technology to build inclusive and effective learning environments for both their students and teachers.
Results
By focusing on the auditory component of the classroom experience, this upgrade underscores the importance of clear communication in education and demonstrates how thoughtful technological enhancements can contribute to improved academic outcomes.
